Developing Entrepreneurial People
King's 48 Hour Startup
Using the principles of design thinking that shape product and service innovation in organisations and industries around the world, the 48Hr StartUp bootcamp weekend helps students at King's College London Business School how it’s possible to go from problem to solution, fast.
With no previous experience of coding, business or entrepreneurship necessary, students learn new skills and structured processes and building a real-life product along the way.
They also learn how they can apply these techniques to your own career path. The aim is to encourage a bias to towards action and curiosity: a fundamental mindset that will serve them well in any career.
With Future Faculty's help, students spent two days working in teams to develop and test new ideas.
They chose from a list of possible consumer problems to address work through the key phases of getting a start-up off the ground, using the latest technologies and generative AI tools:
Lean Startup: how to quickly build, test and learn about startup ideas
Customer Development: how to understand a problem your users or customers face
Minimum Viable Product: building products to test your idea quickly
Branding: building a logo, typeface and colour palette
Growth Marketing: using Facebook to drive users to your product
Pitching: conveying your idea clearly and concisely to your audience
In just two days, we helped 50 students discover, design and deliver innovative solutions to real challenges in health, food distribution and sustainability. They developed an understanding of the latest startup tools and techniques and accelerated their skill development to support their future careers.
